These 4 Laws Reshaped My World from Struggle to Serenity!

--

Yesterday, I read this fascinating, intriguing, thought-provoking book. It is called “The Go-Giver.” An amazing read, it contains a history about this guy called Joe who meets five people each day, teaching him some invaluable laws about a successful life.

Very immersive; I read it within a day. Highly recommend.

But now, let’s explore the four Laws:

THE LAW OF VALUE

Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than take in payment.

To illustrate, in starting, for instance, a coffee shop, you first have to give value to your customer. Provide a nice experience when they buy your stuff — be kind, make compliments, idk figure it out.

That’s when the magic happens; they will spread the word. Soon, friends of her friends will come to your coffee.

Being kind doesn’t take a lot of effort…

THE LAW OF COMPENSATION

Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

Basically, your income is directly proportional to how many lives you touch.

The best example is this article, or anyone else’s; my income is defined by how many people read this post. The more people read it, the more money I gain. The more relatable content I make the more people will see it.

‘Everybody can be great because anybody can serve’ — R. Martin Luther King Jr.

What did he mean?

Everybody can be successful because anybody can give.

THE LAW OF INFLUENCE

Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

You probably know this rule fifty-fifty. You help someone; they help you. I will tell you right away, FORGET ABOUT win-win.

The only winning proposition is one hundred percent. Make your win about the other person, go after what they want.

You probably think it doesn’t make any sense. It didn’t to me when I first read it.

However, if you place the other person’s interests first, your interests will always be taken care of. Watch out for what other people need, with the faith that when you do, you’ll get what you need.

I recently sent my colleague homework. He kindly asked I send it, didn’t ask him about anything in return. And the next day, I see he sent me his notes. It was very heartwarming.

THE LAW OF AUTHENTICITY

The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself. I’m just going to show you a nice example.

Imagine you are selling houses. You know all the techniques, all the methods on how to effectively do your job. However, after the 20th attempt, you still didn’t sell any house.

And the problem might be that you’re not bringing much value.

It’s hard to explain, but staying authentic, putting your heart out there might help you to succeed.

THE LAW OF RECEPTIVITY

The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

In order to give to people, you also need to choose to receive.

You need to keep things interesting.

The secret to success, to gaining it, to having it, is to give, give, give. The secret to getting is giving.

And the secret to giving is making yourself open to receiving.
